BEYOND THE ORDINARY
Gerry Wells - Chair of the Board of Trustees.
I joined East Park School as a trustee in 2014 and went on to serve as the Chair of the Board of Trustees from 2018 to 2023.
In the year before taking up the Chair I was glad to be involved in the interview panel that led to Kieron’s appointment as Executive Director (CEO) of East Park Residential School, a registered charity and provider of a residential school for children and young people with the most complex of additional support needs.
It was a pleasure working with Kieron. Always genuine, he was driven only by his interest and concern for the young people entrusted to the care of East Park. His mission was to ensure each individual achieved their potential. Kieron also recognised the greatest assets under his watch were the many and varied staff in the school. Kieron is a people person, and employees responded accordingly. East Park developed a strong positive all embracing and supportive culture, and attracted a strong management team. It was most satisfying to see East Park develop under Kieron’s leadership, this development endorsed by external inspectorates covering both the care and education provided, and, in time, East Park was awarded the highest care standard grades possible.

BEYOND THE ORDINARY
Walking through the corridors of East Park School in Maryhill, Glasgow, you are struck not by the clear challenges these young people live with but by the extraordinary strength, compassion, and care that surrounds them.
Dr Sandesh Gulhane MSP

"You I have always felt valued and appreciated at East Park. You are everything a role model should be: intelligent, dignified, capable, empathetic, and kind. I don't believe any human being is replaceable, whether in life or at work. Each of us is uniquely talented and I've keenly felt the loss of every staff member who ever left one of my teams. You ARE East Park, will always be a part of us who work here and we will try our best to the reflect your values and compassionate leadership."
